Fix Organization proposes hosting the inaugural National Conference for Kurdish-American Nonprofit Organizations and Community Centers in the United States. This transformative event is designed to accelerate community development through the promotion of self-help, cooperation, and sustainable systems that empower Kurdish-American organizations to collaboratively address social and economic challenges.
This first-of-its-kind conference will bring together Kurdish-American nonprofit leaders, community organizers, and change-makers across the nation to share knowledge, exchange resources, and build stronger networks. Our goal is to equip every participating organization with the tools, strategies, and support systems necessary to thrive, expand their impact, and better serve their communities.
Across the United States, Kurdish-American nonprofit organizations and community centers face common structural and operational challenges—including limited access to funding, networking, training, and 501(c)(3) compliance. According to IRS guidelines, 29 types of 501(c) organizations exist, with 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) designations being the most critical for charitable and social welfare organizations seeking funding and tax exemption.
Despite the potential and commitment demonstrated by many Kurdish-led initiatives, a lack of unified support and coordinated training continues to limit their effectiveness and reach. Fix Organization seeks to fill this gap by organizing the First National Conference—an opportunity to unify, empower, and grow our collective impact through community development, fundraising, nonprofit compliance, and strategic collaboration.
This national conference will serve as a hub for Kurdish-American nonprofit organizations and community centers across the country to gather, learn, and collaborate. The event will provide a platform for leaders to share their experiences, best practices, and ideas while forming valuable partnerships. Sessions will include expert panels, interactive workshops, and solution-driven discussions focusing on:
501(c)(3) compliance and capacity-building
Grant writing and fundraising
Community outreach and engagement strategies
Leadership and nonprofit governance
Collaboration models for sustainable impact
The program will emphasize mutual support and knowledge-sharing to elevate each organization’s ability to serve their respective communities and develop long-term strategies for change.
The primary goals of this initiative are:
Strengthening Organizational Capacity: Provide practical training and tools to help Kurdish-American nonprofits establish or maintain 501(c)(3) compliance and develop strong internal systems.
Enhancing Collaboration and Solidarity: Create a national network of Kurdish-American organizations committed to mutual support, knowledge exchange, and shared goals.
Promoting Community Development: Equip leaders with the skills and resources to effectively serve their local communities and advocate for their needs.
Amplifying Impact: Empower organizations to scale their services, secure funding, and increase their visibility within the broader nonprofit sector and among funders.
To Be Determined to ensure nationwide accessibility and inclusive participation.
Fix Organization is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to bridging the gap between funding sponsors and underserved communities. We implement community-driven projects that address urgent needs and long-term development goals, ensuring every initiative reflects the values of sustainability, inclusivity, and empowerment[1].
