We visited a camp established by displaced Yazidi families located within the internally displaced persons (IDP) camp in Koya City–KoySanjaq, situated in the center of Koya City, Erbil Province, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. During our assessment, we identified 54 families comprising 254 individuals living without basic necessities such as food, clothing, and heating.
More than 80 individuals are students ranging from first grade through college who are currently out of school. Additionally, over 23 infants lack access to milk due to their mothers’ malnutrition.
In response, we provided basic winter clothing to every family residing in the IDP camp. The citizens of Koya City–KoySanjaq showed strong support for our efforts, with eight local volunteers offering their vehicles to help transport donated items from the market to the camp.
